Kericho: AP officer kills lover, turns gun on self

Shock and grief have engulfed the Sosiot trading centre in Belgut after an Administration Police officer allegedly shot his girlfriend dead before turning the gun on himself.
According to junior police officers at Sosiot police station, an officer assigned to the Critical Infrastructure Protection Unit (CIPU) who was guarding the Belgut sub county headquarters allegedly shot his girlfriend at her workplace, which is directly across the street from the sub county headquarters.
After shooting his girlfriend, the officer reportedly went home and turned the gun on himself.
Reports of what happened before the fatal shooting are scarce, though witnesses say the officer and the deceased were a couple.
