Kenya Prisons Women’s Volleyball Team booked their place in the finals of the Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) National League play-offs after edging rivals KCB 3-2 (25-21, 20-25, 17-25, 25-13, 15-12) in a thrilling semifinal clash on Sunday at the Moi International Sports Centre Kasarani Indoor Arena in Nairobi.

The league play-off finals are scheduled for July 17–19 at the same venue.

Prisons will now face defending champions Kenya Pipeline, who secured their place in the final on Saturday after defeating the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Games One and Two by identical 2-0 set scores.

KCB, meanwhile, will take on DCI in the third-place play-off. The bankers had won Game One 3-1 on Friday before Prisons bounced back with a 3-1 victory in Game Two on Saturday to force the decisive third match.

Prisons made just one change to their starting lineup, handing outside hitter Pamela Masaisai a starting role after she began Games One and Two on the bench. The move paid off as they dominated the opening set while KCB struggled to find their rhythm.

In the second set, KCB head coach Japheth Munala introduced Deborah Jesang in place of Malkia Strikers opposite hitter Terry Tata. The substitution proved effective as the bankers improved their attacking play to level the match.

Prisons regained control in the third set, punishing KCB's defensive lapses and attacking with precision to take the set convincingly.

The bankers responded strongly in the fourth set, with Jesang producing another impressive display to inspire KCB to victory and force a decisive fifth set.

Prisons raced into an early lead in the final set, but KCB fought back to level the scores at 7-7 and later 9-9. However, a tactical substitution proved decisive as Prisons introduced experienced Brackcides Agala to strengthen both the service line and reception. The veteran delivered when it mattered most, helping Prisons pull away and seal the set—and the match—to book a place in the championship final.
