Kenyan football fans
have condemned the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) for failing to implement
fans safety measures in all stadia across the country, and the overall
mismanagement of local football.
The fans, under the Kenya Football Fans
Federation, KEFOFA, have accused the federation of promoting insecurity during
matches, economic sabotage, and failure to adequately prepare for major events
like the AFCON 2025.
Speaking to the media in Nairobi, KEFOFA
President Francis Liboyi called for the arrest of key football stakeholders,
including FKF President Nick Mwendwa, for endangering the lives of the fans.
“The DPP, having been
furnished with evidence by the EACC, to immediately commence prosecution of
the ‘Undertaker’ Nick Mwendwa and his accomplices who have been presiding over
the murder of football development initiatives in our country,” said
Liboyi.
“Sports CS Ababu
Namwamba should take decisive action to ensure the Sports Act is followed and
FKF elections are not sabotaged by anyone,” he added.
Liboyi also alleged that FKF has excluded fan
representation from its Constitution, therefore illegally silencing the voices of
football supporters in the country.
