KCSE candidate among six people killed in Makueni road accident

At least six people have died in a road accident at Ngoluni along the Itangini-Tawa road in Mbooni East Sub-County in Makueni County.

Mbooni East Sub-County Commander Iphrahim Karani said the crash occurred after a lorry heading towards Tawa at high speed lost control and rammed a 14-seater PSV that was at the stage.

Five people died on the spot, while one victim was pronounced dead while being rushed to the hospital to receive treatment.

A total of 11 people who sustained injuries were rushed to Makueni Sub-County Hospital and other nearby facilities to receive treatment.

Among the fatalities reported was one student who was travelling home from school after completing the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations.
