Storms
women’s basketball team head coach Abel Nson believes his side will win both
their remaining fixtures against Kisumu Lady Bucks for a top five league
finish.
Storms
are currently placed eighth on the standings with 21 points and winning both
matches will see them climb three places into fifth.
That
would set them up for a quarter-final playoff clash against UON Dynamites.
“I
believe we are going to win the game. We need both victories to get our
preferred playoffs position,” Nson said
Nson,
whose side have an away trip to Kisumu this weekend, says they won’t repeat the
mistakes they made last weekend when they lost 26-45 to Eagle Wings.
“We
played badly last weekend but we don’t expect ourselves to play badly again. We
are prepared well for the matches,” Nson added.
On
his part, Lady Bucks head coach Michael Dave admits finishing top
eight will be a big mountain to climb but not giving up yet.
“Our
prospects of finishing top eight are not good but we are looking up as we are
working extremely hard. Last weekend was a disaster top us as we lost both
games in Nairobi but we are going to improve on our performance,” Dave said.
Lady
Bucks are rock bottom with 12 points after winning just
one of their 11
matches.
