Jubilee Deputy Party Leader Fred Matiang’i was on Friday morning forced to cut short his address in Bomet Town after a crowd supporting President William Ruto turned hostile during his campaign tour of the South Rift.
Matiang’i arrived in Bomet as part of his journey to Narok, but the political reception quickly turned tense after his campaign team addressed residents.
The crowd repeatedly chanted slogans supporting President William Ruto’s bid for two terms, disrupting the campaign team’s planned engagement with residents.
The tense atmosphere forced the team to leave Bomet Town and abandon a planned stop in Mulot.
