Kenyan comedian, Jaymo Ule Msee, became the victim of internet jokes when a viral video of him trying and failing to take a photo with Tanzanian superstar Diamond Platnumz surfaced. He now says he had to deliver a good photo by all means.

The incident happened during the official launch of Wasafi Bet at Mlimani City in Tanzania on Friday, December 10, 2021, when the comedian had stepped on stage for a photo session with the star.

“What happened ni ati niko kwa stage, I wanted a good photo, I will not lie to you and you can see ule mtu nilipea simu anipige picha alipiga picha ya umbwakni…” said Jaymo.

Jaymo, while speaking during a YouTube interview with Mungai Eve, said that he was sent by his boss, a betting firm in Kenya, to cover the launch of Diamond’s Wasafi Bet, which is the sister company and his only purpose at the event was to sell the launch to his fans.

“Na mimi niko na kazi, if I don’t deliver, the person who made me come here won’t be happy, that’s why I wanted to take another photo,” explained the comedian.

According to Jaymo, his only job was to ensure that the people who know Jaymo and listen to Jaymo know about the betting firm.

Jaymo said that the incident achieved its purpose and got more people to know and talk about the betting company.

“In everything that people are laughing at you, you achieve some of the objectives that took you there,” said Jaymo.

The comedian revealed he still laughs at himself when he looks back at the incident but he would still do it again.

“Apa kwetu watu hupenda kuchekelea mtu sana, me being one of them, and that’s why I joined people in laughing into that story, including laughing at myself... For me it was an experience and I would still do it again,” said the comedian.
