IPOA raises alarm over attacks and killings of police officers

According to IPOA, the death of police officers in the line of duty is devastating, as it threatens public safety and undermines confidence in policing.

The authority sent condolences to the families of 4 officers who lost their lives maintaining public order and safety in September.

IPOA said that they are seeking to continue working with citizens and police officers for public safety.

‘’We strive to promote public understanding and good relationships by building confidence between the police and citizens,’’ IPOA stated.

It called on the National Police Service to ensure that policing is supported and informed by fit-for-purpose strategies and insights based on evidence and good practice.

‘’As an independent and impartial Authority, IPOA reiterates its commitment to building trust and promoting professionalism, accountability, discipline, transparency, and respect for human rights within the National Police Service,’’ IPOA said.
