I have no problem deputizing Sifuna - Kalonzo Musyoka

Speaking during an interview on NTV on Monday, Kalonzo opined that provided the opposition remains united to the elections, they will be victorious with an excess of 70%. 

"I have no problem deputising Sifuna, but you must take into account Kenya's demographics," said Kalonzo. 

He believes that come 2027, Kenyans will witness another 2002 'Kibaki moment' where the votes were past the 50 plus 1 mark.

“Not just Sifuna by the way. I have demonstrated commitment and belief in a national cause for the national good. But you know we live in this country as well. We know the demographics and these communities. Every community wants to have a stake at the table. Beyond those numbers, you must take into account those other considerations,” he said.

Kalonzo maintained that it does not really matter who becomes their flag bearer, saying it is for a common cause. He notes that the opposition is already aware that Ruto’s only way to survive is to divide them. 

According to Kalonzo, what he termed as “United Alternative Government” is already a government in waiting claiming they had even done an unusual step of publishing the people’s budget ahead of the elections.

In his response to opinion polls, Kalonzo urged Kenyans not to fall prey to electoral manipulation, alleging that some of the research firms were already in the government's payroll to promote Ruto’s candidacy.

Further, he made claims that there is a government-sanctioned police unit that is allegedly conniving with goons to terrorise political opponents.

“Did you know that there is an Operational Support Unit (OSU)? That is a unit that is working with goons, the militias, to terrorize even political opponents. I can tell you for a fact because I have been in government. I want to encourage the Inspector General of police to disband that thing very quickly,” he added.

Kalonzo revealed that collectively with his “team”, they are working on a 13-point agenda which they believe will fix and rescue the nation, calling on President Ruto to give Kenyans space to express themselves.
