Gov't to inject Ksh.11B in Makueni Affordable Housing as Ruto inspects over 700 units in Wote
President William Ruto leads an inspection tour of the massive Boma Yangu Wote Pool Affordable Housing Estate in Makueni County.

Ruto spoke during an inspection tour of the massive Boma Yangu Wote Pool Affordable Housing Estate, where 755 housing units are under construction.
“These projects are proof that the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA) is working for all Kenyans without favouritism. No region will be left behind in matters of development. My government is intentional in supporting projects that uplift living standards of all Kenyans within their localities, provide decent jobs and ignite new business opportunities for Jua Kali sector workers,” he said.
The Boma Yangu Wote Pool Affordable Housing Estate, being implemented by Parklane Construction Company, is 50 per cent complete and is scheduled for completion by 23rd January 2026.
The development will include a shopping centre, community hall, kindergarten, clubhouse, 65 commercial stalls, borehole, secure boundary wall, backup generator, cabro-paved driveways, green spaces, garbage receptacles, and outdoor recreational areas for children.
At the same time, President Ruto reactivated and handed over the Wote Civil Servants Housing Project to the contractor, Hashit Construction and General Supplies Ltd. The project that will cost Ksh.556,944,560.64 is scheduled for completion by 10th May 2027 providing civil servants with decent and affordable accommodation for government officers stationed in Wote Town, Makueni County.
Workers hired at the two projects will also benefit from equipping employable skills in masonry, plumbing, carpentry, electrical wiring, painting, landscaping, gardening, LPG reticulation, interior design, welding, and metal fabrication, among others. Beneficiaries will be assessed and certified through the Kenya National Qualifications Authority (KNQA)
