Four suspects were on Friday apprehended in Kahawa area for allegedly being involved in the GHash mining scam.

The four; Otieno Dismas Ongoro, Robin Mwika, Wycliff Otieno Olal, and Michael Otieno Kaumba, were taken into custody at the Muthaiga and Pangani police stations.

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) who conducted the operation recovered 1,336 SIM cards from various telco service providers as follows; Safaricom (1,235), Airtel (80), and Telkom (21).

A tablet, laptop, and eight mobile phones were also found upon search of the suspects’ premises.

The four are set to be arraigned in court on Monday as detectives seek to apprehend more suspects in the scam.
