Gachagua warns of planned disruption in Dagoretti, questions IG Kanja's leadership

In a post shared on social media, the DCP leader questioned whether Kanja is in control of the National Police Service, alleging that rogue officers have been collaborating with goons to target civilians and political leaders.

Gachagua warned that a group of officers had allegedly been deployed to Dagoretti ahead of his planned rally, accusing them of conducting surveillance with the intention of disrupting the meeting.

He went on to name several officers he claimed were involved, providing their alleged service numbers and vehicle details, and warned that they would be held criminally liable under the law.

“Is it that you have surrendered the command of the police to politicians or you have allowed the National Police Service to be converted into a criminal gang?” Gachagua posed.

He also claimed that the same officers, alongside suspected criminals, carried out attacks at ACK Witima Church in Othaya, where he alleged that children, women and leaders were assaulted, vehicles destroyed and tear gas and live ammunition used within the church compound.

“To date, despite them having been positively identified and placed on the scene of crime, no disciplinary action has been taken against them,” he said.

He alleged that similar incidents occurred in Kikuyu, where he claimed police officers protected criminals who were robbing and harassing motorists along the Nakuru Highway and the Southern Bypass.

The former Deputy President also accused a specialised unit of officers of using excessive force against him and members of the public, claiming they were hooded and heavily armed.
