Gachagua faults government for inaction after Nakuru preacher’s murder

The former Deputy President expressed concern that church ministers are no longer safe, accusing the government of showing a lack of concern and failing to take responsibility for arresting the criminals involved. 

He warned that the ongoing silence from authorities could embolden the perpetrators, leading to more attacks on church clergy.

Gachagua made these remarks during the Memorial Service for Reverend Ndumia at PCEA Macedonia in Ongata Rongai, Kajiado County. 

Additionally, he alleged that the government has declared war on the church, citing numerous cases of church attacks that have gone unpunished. 

The former DP vowed to mobilize church leaders to meet with the Inspector General of Police to seek justice, failure to which, they will escalate their efforts.

Furthermore, Gachagua called on the police to permit the church to release CCTV footage of the incident, so that the congregation can observe and identify the attackers.

Other leaders present including Kajiado North Member of Paliament Onesmus Ngogoyo and Kajiado Senator Seki Ole Lenku echoed Gachagua’s sentiment calling for government action to ensure perpertrators are brought to book.
