The Kenya Water Institute (KEWI) team, National Industrial Training Institute (NITA) and Tsunami have reaped big in yesterday’s national Floorball team call-up, producing at least three players in both men's and women's national teams.

In the 24-man team named by head coach Kelvin Maina yesterday, KEWI bagged the majority share, getting seven players called up for national duty, while Tsunami got five and NITA got three.

Other clubs that got their players called up to the team are Blackbirds, Beast, Otanda Sports, KU and Silver Queens.

“KEWI has most players in the squad because their squad has been on top form since last season in the national wide Floorball league. We also have other clubs like NITA, Tsunamis and KU who have contributed quite several players to the squad,” said Maina.

Maina said input from the local clubs’ coaches contributed to some clubs having many players in the national team. According to him, the players’ entry into the national team was a result of their coaches’ input.

“Clubs like KEWI, NITA and the rest with all these players coming to the national team have very competent coaches. These coaches make their players more complete in their format of play,” added Maina.

The team is holding their final training camp at the KEWI grounds in readiness for next month’s tournament.
