Football Kenya Federation (FKF) President Hussein Mohammed has pledged to leverage new FIFA development programs to accelerate football growth in Kenya following high-level discussions at the FIFA Executive Football Summit 2026 in Miami, United States.

Mohammed, accompanied by Acting FKF General Secretary Dennis Gicheru, joined football leaders from FIFA Member Associations worldwide at the summit hosted by FIFA President Gianni Infantino.

The meeting focused on FIFA’s global development agenda, strategic priorities, and emerging opportunities aimed at strengthening football across member nations.

Among the key announcements was the launch of the FIFA Forward 4 program, set to begin in January 2027. The initiative will introduce new funding cycles and expand support for Member Associations, enabling federations such as FKF to invest more in infrastructure, competitions, and grassroots development.

FIFA also unveiled plans for a new Under-15 World Cup Festival under its Talent Academy program. The tournament is expected to expand youth competition pathways and provide young players with greater international exposure.

Delegates were further briefed on new commercial and partnership models designed to help national associations diversify revenue streams and improve long-term financial sustainability.

Mohammed said the summit provided valuable insights that could help drive football development in Kenya.

“The FIFA Executive Football Summit has offered an important platform for Member Associations to exchange ideas and understand the future direction of global football development. We are encouraged by the opportunities presented through FIFA Forward 4 and the expanded focus on youth development,” said Mohammed.

“Our goal is to ensure Kenya fully benefits from these programs by investing in sustainable football structures, strengthening talent pathways, and creating more opportunities for young players across the country.”

The summit comes as FKF continues efforts to strengthen governance, expand grassroots football programs, and position Kenyan football to benefit from FIFA-backed development initiatives in the coming years.
