Five dead as two trucks collide on Marsabit–Isiolo Road

Five people died and one other was seriously injured following a collision involving two trucks on the Marsabit–Isiolo Road on Friday morning.
The crash occurred at 4a.m. at Kargi Junction, around 10 kilometres from Marsabit Town.
Marsabit County Police Commander Leonard Kimaiyo said the two trucks, both transporting beans and heading towards Isiolo, were travelling in the same direction when one rammed into the rear of the other.
Four people died on the spot, while a fifth succumbed to injuries after being taken to the Marsabit County Referral and Teaching Hospital.
Police officers, led by the Marsabit Central Sub-County Police Commander, secured the scene and launched investigations.
The bodies were moved to the Marsabit County Referral and Teaching Hospital mortuary.
Kimaiyo urged motorists to observe traffic rules and exercise caution on the roads as investigations into the accident continue.
