New Shabana FC head coach Ahmed Fathi has boldly declared his ambition to guide the glamour boys to the Kenya Premier League title and secure qualification for the CAF Champions League.

The Egyptian tactician, who was officially unveiled on Friday, expressed confidence in his ability to steer the Gusii-based side to new heights, insisting that hard work and commitment will be the foundation of the club's success.

Speaking during his unveiling, Fathi said he is determined to restore Shabana to the top of Kenyan football and challenge for major honors.

“We believe in hard work, and we will work very hard to put Shabana in the place that they deserve. We will do our best to compete for the league title and qualify for the CAF Champions League,” he said.

The former All Blacks of Ghana head coach also rallied the club's passionate supporters, assuring them that their loyalty would soon be rewarded with success on the pitch.

“I want to promise everyone at Shabana that we will work hard to put Shabana where it belongs. I promise you that one day you will be proud to support this club,” he added.

His confidence was echoed by fitness coach Hatagekimana Corneille, who pledged to ensure the players are physically prepared to compete at the highest level during the 2026/27 season.

“I am happy to be here, and I want to promise you that we will push our players to ensure that next season we perform better than we did last season,” he said.

Fathi will officially begin his tenure ahead of the 2026/27 Kenya Premier League season. He will work alongside first assistant coach Hesbon Nyabinge and second assistant coach Andrea Ongwae as Shabana seek to build on last season's progress.

His appointment marks a historic moment for the club, as he becomes the first foreign coach to lead Shabana FC, ending the club's long-standing tradition of appointing local tacticians.

The club's hierarchy will be hoping the Egyptian can usher in a new era of success and establish Shabana as genuine title contenders once again.
