The family of 45-year-old Peter Wambua Mwaluko, a Likoni-based businessman, is pleading with the government to assist in tracing their son, who went missing on September 26, 2026.

Peter Wambua is said to have told his family that he was heading to Mombasa town for a business meeting, but he never returned home.

The family reported the matter, but 18 days after leaving home, Wambua remains untraced.

Wambua is said to have notified his wife on the 26th of last month that he was headed to the Central Business District (CBD) in Mombasa for a meeting with an unknown businessman.

He was to attend another business meeting with a fellow businessmen later. He did not return home.

“Saa tisa ya usiku nikiamka niombe nikaona mbona mwenzangu hajaingia kwa nyumba, nikatoka nikaenda nikakaa chini nikaomba…after kuomba nikasema wacha nimpigie simu nijue mahali aliko..nilipompigia simu laini yake ikawa haifanyi kazi…nikauliza kwa nini hii line yake haifanyi na si kawaida yake…yeye 24/7 simu yake huwa iko on,” said Josephine Mbula Kisilu, Wambua’s wife.

The family reported the matter at Likoni Police Station, with initial investigations revealing that the last communication signal from Wambua was in Likoni. The family is now asking the government to assist in tracing their kin.

According to the family, the police are yet to establish who the businessman was meeting and for what purpose, 18 days after the matter was reported.
