Former Kirinyaga Woman Representative Purity Wangui Ngirici has landed a parastatal job after being appointed the chairperson of the Kenya Seed Company.

In a Gazette notice printed on July 21, 2023, Agriculture CS Mithika Linturi also said Symon Kipchumba, Edwin Tum, Bernard Wambwa and  Job Ndemo were appointed as members.

In the notice dated July 13, 2023, Linturi said the appointments were made following an AGM held on June 30, 2023.

Ngirici had unsuccessfully ran for the Kirinyaga governor seat against Anne Waiguru.

She had filed a petition contesting Waiguru’s win, but later withdrew it.

Ngirici had initially sought to run on a UDA ticket, but Waiguru ultimately ran on the ticket and Ngirici ended up running as an independent candidate.
