Uasin Gishu governor Jonathan Bii has said there is much benefits that will come after the conferment of Eldoret town as a city on August 15.

Speaking in Eldoret town after meeting the business community, Bii said the new status will attract investors from within and outside the country.

“We are looking at opportunities that the city will bring to us. We know we will attract investors from all over the world. We need to package ourselves in a way that the whole world know we are here,” noted the governor.

Bii said it will also enhance good relations with other cities in the world and donors thereby bringing more funds for infrastructural development.

Plans are underway as several dignitaries led by President William Ruto are expected to grace the event on Thursday.
