More than 400 restaurants across Nairobi are taking part in this year's Nairobi Burger Week, a 10-day dining campaign that runs until Saturday, September 6.
The festival, organised by restaurant discovery platform Eat Out Kenya, opened on August 27 and offers special burger menus at participating venues in what the organisers describe as the city's largest event of its kind.
Eat Out Kenya General Manager Wendy Lorenze said the campaign is built around how Nairobians increasingly find places to eat, with recommendations from friends, food creators and online communities shaping dining choices.
"Food is increasingly becoming one of the ways people discover and experience Nairobi. We see people constantly sharing where they have eaten, recommending hidden gems and encouraging others to try new places," Lorenze said.
She said the festival gives diners a reason to visit restaurants they may not otherwise have tried.
Participating venues and their offers are listed on the Eat Out website and its Instagram page.
Several commercial partners have signed on to this year's edition. EABL is supplying draught beer pairings while Coca-Cola has also come on board.
Uber Eats and Glovo are running delivery discounts and free delivery promotions for diners ordering in, and Uber is offering up to 50 per cent off rides to and from participating restaurants. Safaricom's M-PESA is giving airtime rewards to diners who pay at participating outlets. Suppliers Cheese Love, Kenafric and Clique are offering discounted ingredients and products to participating kitchens.
