The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), through its Western Regional Office, has arrested the Busia Land Registrar for allegedly demanding a bribe of Ksh.10,000 to release a title deed.
Collins Aiela Liyayi was apprehended on Tuesday following complaints from Busia residents that he was fond of withholding title deeds processed for members of the public, demanding bribes as "release fees".
EACC said that Liyayi was escorted to the EACC Western Regional Office in Bungoma where he was processed and later booked at Bungoma Police Station pending further processing today, Wednesday.
The operation is part of an ongoing crackdown on bribery in public service offices.
