KF Cup champions Tusker FC have strengthened their squad ahead of the 2026/27 season after completing the signing of Ivorian winger Aboubacar Doumbia from Saudi Arabian First Division side Al Orobah.

The 25-year-old arrives with extensive experience gained in Saudi Arabia, Cyprus and Israel. He is expected to inject pace, creativity and attacking flair into a Tusker side preparing to compete in the FKF Premier League, CAF Confederation Cup and CECAFA Kagame Cup.

Doumbia has also represented Ivory Coast at Under-20 and Under-23 level before earning a senior international cap. He was part of the Ivory Coast squad that competed at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, underlining the pedigree he brings to Ruaraka.

The winger becomes Tusker's third major signing of the current transfer window following the return of experienced left-back Abud Omar from Kenya Police FC and the capture of Nigerian striker Victor Mbaoma from Nigerian champions Remo Stars.

Omar returns to the Brewers a decade after his first spell with the club and is expected to add leadership and defensive stability, while Mbaoma arrives with an impressive goalscoring record from the Nigerian Premier Football League.

The trio form part of an ambitious recruitment drive as Tusker look to recover from a disappointing ninth-place finish in last season's FKF Premier League and build a squad capable of challenging for silverware both at home and on the continent.

Speaking during the club's end-of-season gala last week, head coach Jullien Mette said Tusker's rebuilding process was already well underway.

"We want to build a squad with the quality needed to compete for trophies. The recruitment process has already started, and we are bringing in players who can help us achieve our ambitions both locally and in Africa. A club of Tusker's stature can't finish ninth in the league and sit pretty. We must make major changes and bring in players who can help us achieve our targets."
The French coach insisted winning trophies remains the club's priority next season.
"I did not come all the way from France as a tourist. I came here to coach and win trophies, and that is our target next season. We are going to make our fans and our sponsor happy."
Tusker are expected to unveil more signings in the coming weeks as they continue assembling a squad capable of mounting strong challenges in the FKF Premier League, CAF Confederation Cup and CECAFA Kagame Cup.

Meanwhile, former AFC Leopards winger Hassan Beja is training with the Brewers during pre-season as he seeks to earn a contract ahead of the new campaign.

The pacey winger is being assessed by Mette and his technical staff and will hope to impress sufficiently to secure a place in Tusker's squad. His arrival would further strengthen the club's attacking options as the rebuilding project gathers momentum.
