CSs Geoffrey Ruku, Beatrice Amoe honoured at 2026 BOBEA Leadership Awards

Beatrice Askul Moe, Cabinet Secretary for East African Community (EAC) Affairs and Regional Development, and Geoffrey Ruku, Cabinet Secretary for Public Service, Human Capital Development and Special Programmes, received top honours in the Best Performing Cabinet Secretary category.

According to the organisers, the two were recognised for leadership in their respective ministries and efforts to improve service delivery and implement government programmes.

Askul was cited for initiatives aimed at strengthening Kenya's engagement within the East African Community and advancing regional development programmes, particularly in marginalised areas. The organisers said her ministry had contributed to promoting regional cooperation and supporting development initiatives across counties.

Ruku was recognised for reforms in the public service, including efforts to improve service delivery, strengthen human capital development, and oversee special programmes targeting vulnerable communities. The organisers said the ministry's initiatives have focused on enhancing efficiency, accountability, and citizen-centred service delivery.

The recognition comes as government ministries face growing scrutiny over the implementation of development projects, public sector reforms, and the quality of services offered to Kenyans.

The BOBEA Leadership Awards recognise individuals and institutions for leadership, innovation, accountability, and performance in governance and public service. Organisers say the awards aim to highlight leaders and institutions that have demonstrated measurable impact while promoting transparency and effective public administration.
