Public Service, Human Capital Development and Special Programmes Cabinet Secretary Geoffrey Ruku has called on former Vice President and Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka to consider joining the Kenya Kwanza government, saying his long experience in public service would better serve the country from within government rather than in opposition.

Speaking in Mwingi North during a series of public engagements and the launch of relief food distribution across Mwingi North, Kitui West, and Masinga constituencies, CS Ruku urged Kalonzo to engage with Deputy President Kithure Kindiki and explore forming a formidable government in 2032.

Ruku accused impeached Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and leaders allied to the Democratic Citizens Party (DCP) of deceiving and misleading Kalonzo for personal gain.

He noted that Kalonzo, having worked in government for over 40 years, knows that meaningful development can only be achieved through collaboration with the administration of the day.

“Joining government will open up greater opportunities for the people of Ukambani,” said Ruku. “Remaining in the opposition has done little to improve their livelihoods, and Kalonzo understands this better than anyone.”

The CS further urged residents of Kitui and Machakos counties to rally behind President William Ruto’s government, which he said has demonstrated commitment to improving lives through key infrastructure projects and citizen-centered initiatives.

Ruku emphasized that the era of tribal politics is long gone and that Kenyans should focus on electing leaders based on performance and delivery rather than ethnicity.

“The time for tribal politics is over,” Ruku stated. “We must choose leaders who deliver to the people, and that is why Kenyans should reflect President Ruto in 2027.”

Leaders who accompanied the CS pledged to fully support the government and continue promoting unity and development in their regions.
