Nairobi City Stars CEO Patrick Korir says minimum changes in their team and consistency in keeping the same players together has been key to their good start to the season.

City Stars released three players at the end of the season and signed only three, something Korir said has helped the squad remain a coordinated unit.

Korir added the recruitment of Nicholas Muyoti as the club’s new head coach has also had a positive impact on the team.

“We  knew we had a good team that was ready to compete with the best and we needed a coach who can motivate them and has the ambition to move the club forward. Muyoti is doing just that,” Korir said.

City Stars, who finished sixth last season, are currently third in the league standings after six games and Korir believes they can challenge for the title.

“We are ready to compete with the best in the league and our target is to improve on our position from last season,” Korir said.
