Public Service Cabinet Secretary Geoffrey Ruku has announced that the planned salary increase for civil servants will be effected from August 1, 2026, offering a pay boost to thousands of public servants across the country.

Speaking in Londiani, Kericho County, CS Ruku said all civil servants will benefit from the salary review directed by President William Ruto.

He said the pay adjustment will cover not only basic salaries but also key allowances paid to government employees.

The CS further directed all government institutions to immediately migrate their payrolls to the Government Human Resource Information System, saying the move will help ensure the pay rise benefits legitimate public servants while eliminating ghost workers from the government payroll.
