Chema Volleyball Club produced another impressive performance to secure a historic place in the Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) Men's National League final, defeating Kenya Prisons 3-1 (25-19, 25-22, 16-25, 25-19) in their semifinal play-off at the Kasarani Indoor Arena in Nairobi on Sunday.

Playing in the top flight for the first time, Chema rose to the occasion to book their maiden National League final in their debut season.

The newcomers will now face Kenya Ports Authority (KPA), who defeated Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) in the other semifinal to set up the championship clash.

Chema's remarkable campaign comes just a season after earning promotion from Division Two to the National League, capping a fairytale run with a place in the final.

Kenya Prisons, meanwhile, will take on KDF in the third-place play-off.

Chema head coach Jeremiah Mukopi made two changes to his starting lineup, handing promising setter Stephen Omondi the nod ahead of Kennedy Mugo. At the same time, Trivor Omondi replaced Ayueni Mach at middle blocker.

National team Wafalme Stars middle blocker Levis Ogutu thrilled fans with his thunderous attacks, while Moses Kamau's powerful jump serves kept Prisons under constant pressure as Chema claimed the opening two sets.

Prisons responded strongly to win the third set and briefly threatened a comeback. However, Chema quickly regained control in the fourth set, dominating proceedings to wrap up the victory and complete a memorable run to their first-ever National League final.
