The sabaot community living within and beyond Mt Elgon converged in Cheptais, Bungoma county, for a cleansing ritual on Friday they conducted in what they said would help foster peace and harmony among them.
The group, which comprised the elderly and the youth from Mt Elgon and Transnzoia held a get-together where they slaughtered bulls and preached peace among the communities which have a long history of civil war.
The annual event saw the elders agreeing to work together for peace and development to ensure they are at par with other communities in other counties.
