Black Stars edge Gogo in exhibition match

Kibera Black Stars football club faced their neighbours Darajani Gogo football club in a special community fixture organised to promote youth.

The highly anticipated neighborhood fixture used football as a platform to foster community engagement and support local talent.

While the game was scheduled as an exhibition to celebrate unity between the two clubs, it remained a competitive local derby, bringing players and supporters together for a vibrant afternoon

The event which was graced by Raila Junior as the chief guest saw Kibera Black stars claim the bragging rights as they cruised past Darajani Gogo with a one nil win as Alvin Chicha scored the goal of the match.

Raila Junior in a statement said that the event is organised mainly to promote peace and cohesion in the community and to the people of Kibera. He further assured Kibera locals of his support.

“The main reason we are here today is to bring togetherness with our people; we want to support grassroot talents and help the youths grow and promote peace among our people”.

Raila Junior also confirmed that the exhibition match played on Saturday afternoon is just one of the many yet to come.

“This is not the end, this one of the many that we are going to conduct, we will continue supporting our youth.”

Kibera Black stars head also appreciated the organisers of the event and urged other leaders also to humiliate embrace in supporting the young generation.

“We want to thank Raila Junior for honouring the people of Kibera and the youth, such occasions help us nature talents and I want to ask other leaders to come up with this kind of platforms so that we can help our grassroot football grow.”

The event also brought support to the two sides as they received cash prize of one million each from President William Ruto to help the two clubs grow as they prepare for the next season.
