Bhang stashed in Mtumba bales found on Lamu-bound bus

The Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) has intercepted a Lamu-bound bus at Sabaki River Bridge in Malindi and nabbed a stash of cannabis hidden in the luggage compartment on Sunday.
According to DCI, the bus belonging to Tawakal Bus Service was making its routine trip from Nairobi when officers flagged it down for inspection.
2 bulky bales of cannabis sativa, concealed with bundles of second-hand clothes (Mtumba), were nabbed.
The bus driver and conductor remain in custody pending arraignment, while a manhunt for the fleeing suspected passenger, believed to have escaped before the officers could act.
The seized narcotics are detained as exhibits in ongoing investigations.
