Bandari hit Sony to maintain winning streak

Bandari edged Sony Sugar 1-0 to tighten their grip on second place at the Awendo Green Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The Dockers who were held for the majority of the game needed an 87th minute goal from Wycliffe Ochomo to sneak away with all maximum points.
The Bernard Mwalala coached side are now on 54 points and their claim of second place finish further strengthens after their closest challengers AFC Leopards third on 48 points narrowly lost 2-1 against lowly placed Wazito on Wednesday.
The sugar millers whose six game unbeaten run has been brought to a hault lie in ninth on 37 points.
At the Machakos Stadium, Mathare United bounced to winning ways, beating Kakamega Homeboyz 2-0 with both sides finishing the tie with a man less.
Cliff Nyakeya put the ‘Slum Boys’ ahead in the 21st minute before Ronald Reagan hit the double shortly after restart in the 54th. The last ten minutes saw each side lose a player with an 83rd minute red card for Mathare followed by a 90th minute red for Homeboyz.
Francis Kimanzi’s side are 7th on 42 points whilst Homeboyz trail them with five points on 10th spot.
Elsewhere at the Sudi Stadium, Nzoia Sugar beat Vihiga United 1-0 to get back to winning ways. Nzoia lie 12th on 34 points whilst Vihiga are in 15th on 30 points.
