The post-mortem was conducted at the Kenyatta National Hospital Mortuary.
Wandeto had been attacked and set on fire by unknown assailants in Mwiki, Kasarani Sub-County, before succumbing to her injuries while receiving treatment at Kenyatta National Hospital, where doctors said she had suffered burns covering about 85 per cent of her body.
Her family has now appealed to the government to conduct thorough investigations and ensure those responsible for her killing are brought to justice.
Homicide detectives investigating the murder have meanwhile been granted 10 days to continue holding a suspect linked to the case to allow them to complete investigations.
The suspect, taxi driver Josiah Njeru Njiri, was arrested in Ruai, Nairobi, by detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
Police stated that Njiri was the last person in communication with the deceased and placed him within the musician’s residential area moments before she was attacked and doused with petrol.
Investigators believed that he holds crucial information that could lead to a breakthrough in the case, even as they pursue more suspects believed to have been involved in the killing.
Makadara Law Courts Magistrate James Juma Mayiah ordered that the suspect be detained at Kilimani Police Station.
The matter will be mentioned on June 3, 2025.
