Athlete Rebecca Cheptegei’s ex-lover Dickson Ndiema dies in hospital

Dickson Ndiema, an ex-partner of Ugandan athlete Rebecca Cheptegei died on Monday night while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Eldoret.
Ndiema is accused of dousing petrol on Cheptegei after an unresolved argument, and setting her on fire.
The Ugandan Olympic runner succumbed to burn injuries on September 5, 2024.
Cheptegei, 33, had sustained burns to 80 percent of her body, leading to total organ failure.
Ndiema allegedly doused Cheptegei with petrol and set her alight at her home in Endebess, Trans-Nzoia County.
Cheptegei's daughters are reported to have witnessed the assault. Ndiema also caught fire and was hospitalised in Eldoret until his death on Monday.
