The bankers edged past USIU Flames 54-51 at Nyayo Gymnasium, Nairobi, a victory that moved them to the top of the standings with 19 points after ten matches, having registered nine wins and one defeat.
Despite the win, Obilo pointed to limited training sessions caused by poor weather conditions as a factor affecting the team's performance.
"We worked well, but we can say we're still not performing at our level best. In the last two weeks, I think we have trained cumulatively for only about two hours because we train outdoors and it has been raining almost every evening.
We have not been able to train consistently, and I think that is why we are struggling a little bit," he said.
The tactician, however, expressed confidence that the team will improve as the players continue adapting to his expectations and tactical demands.
"The Premier League is really tough right now, so we are adjusting gradually. I’m happy that the players are beginning to understand what we want from them, but with better preparation, I believe they will perform even better in the coming games," he added.
Stanbic currently sits one point above defending champions Kenya Ports Authority, who remain unbeaten after winning all their nine matches so far.
