According to Dr. Alexander Irungu, the hospital’s CEO, the camp is performing an average of 10 surgeries daily, focusing on herniotomies for children and hernioplasties for adults.
“So far, 120 patients have been successfully booked for the procedures. Through SHA, we are able to cover the costs while also helping patients register and understand the benefits of SHA,” Dr. Irungu said.
The Social Health Authority is overseeing the registration process to ensure all patients receive proper care before, during, and after surgery.
“This initiative underscores our commitment to providing quality healthcare under the leadership of Governor Sakaja Johnson. Our partnership with SHA has streamlined patient registration and coordination, ensuring efficient service delivery,” Dr. Irungu added.
This surgical camp is bringing much-needed relief to patients suffering from hernias, improving their quality of life through accessible and affordable treatment.
