Nearly 120 companies from Kenya and China will participate in the third East Africa (Kenya) Fashion Life Show in Nairobi next week as the two countries seek to deepen trade and investment in the fashion, lifestyle and consumer goods sectors.
The exhibition,
co-hosted by Afripeak Expo Kenya Ltd and the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce
and Industry (KNCCI), will be held at the Sarit Expo Centre from August 13 to
15. It will bring together manufacturers, exporters, retailers, distributors
and buyers from Kenya, China and the wider East African region.
About 100 Chinese
firms and 20 Kenyan companies are expected to exhibit products ranging from
textiles, apparel and footwear to household goods, beauty products, electronics
and home appliances. Organisers say the event aims to connect businesses with
new suppliers, markets and investment opportunities while positioning Nairobi
as a regional trade hub.
KNCCI President
Erick Rutto said the exhibition offers Kenyan businesses an opportunity to
showcase their products, build partnerships and expand export markets across
the region.
The event will
also feature specialised buyer-supplier matchmaking sessions for the watches
and clocks, and home appliances and consumer electronics sectors to facilitate
business deals and long-term partnerships. Kenya's fashion industry will
receive greater visibility through a showcase involving local designers and
fashion institutions.
Afripeak Expo
Kenya Managing Director Gao Wei said the exhibition has evolved into a
practical trade platform linking international manufacturers with African
buyers, with this year's edition placing greater emphasis on business
matchmaking and long-term market development.
Organisers expect
the expo to create new commercial opportunities for Kenyan enterprises while
strengthening China-Kenya trade relations and attracting more investment into
the country's fashion and consumer goods industries.
