'We will make you proud': Rev Kathy Kiuna's emotional message as Bishop Allan Kiuna laid to rest
Kiuna's funeral service was held on Wednesday in Thindigua.
As his widow, Kathy Kiuna, stepped on to the dais to make her speech, she started by singing the song 'one day at a time' with her soothing vocals evoking a solemn mood at the venue.
With Rev Teresia Wangui holding her hand as she has done throughout the week as services have been held in honour of Bishop Allan, Kathy thanked her supporters for standing with her during the difficult transition period and requested them to keep walking with her as she takes the next steps as the steward of Jubilee Christian Church (JCC).
Kathy reminisced on how Bishop Allan loved her "loudly" and "openly" and thanked Rev Wangui, whom she refers to as (spiritual ) 'mum' for raising Allan well and walking with them throughout the years.
Kathy appreciated Allan for seeing her gift in preaching which she said she didn't know she had.
"Honey, I didn't even know I could preach, but you saw it in me and said to me: Baby, you can do this. You told me I was called to the woman and you saw it and called it out and I have been doing that and look what the Lord has done."
Kathy went ahead to say, "I just want to tell you, honey, we will make you proud."
The venue was packed during the final send off, with some of the notable figures in attendance being Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and Second Lady Dorcas Rigathi, Sabina Charge, Cate Waruguru, Bishop JB Masinde, Bishop Mark Kariuki, among others.
