Two Kenyans have been feted for their roles in scouting, walking away with the Silver World Award.

Chief Commissioner of the Kenya Scouts Association Victor Radido and Antony Gitonga received the international recognition during Scouting America's National annual meeting in Orlando, Florida.

The honors at the Silver Buffalo Awards saw them join the ranks of Mzee Jomo Kenyatta and Daniel arap Moi who received the award in 1973 and 1981 respectively.

The international recognition, presented by Scouting America, acknowledges individuals who have rendered exceptional service to youth on a global scale.

“This award is not just a personal honor but collective efforts of all Kenyan scouts, volunteers, staff, and supporters who have contributed to our mission,” Radido told Citizen Digital.

The Silver World Award is bestowed upon leaders for their service to the youth of the world.

“We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has been part of this incredible journey. Together, we continue to build a better world through scouting.”

The Kenya Scouts Association welcomed the awards saying they serve as a reflection of the hard work, passion, and dedication that the two have had in their career.
