Two children aged five (5) and four (4) years were burnt to death on Friday night after their house caught fire at Kamata village near Gakwegori area in Embu West sub county.

It is suspected that the fire that broke out around 8.00 pm spread fast burning the two children as they slept inside the house.

According to the neighbours, the mother had left the children in the house alone on the fateful night to take tea to her husband who is watchman in the neighbourhood.

Confirming the incident, Kiangima sub location assistant chief Patrick Muriithi said the mother was shocked to find the house on fire and raised alarm attracting neighbours who rushed at scene but already fire spread.
