Probe as Embu businessman attacked by five man gang, car stolen

Police in Embu are probing an incident where a local businessman was attacked by a five man gang and his car stolen.
Embu North Deputy County Commissioner William Owino said the unknown gang broke into the home of the businessman late Tuesday night.
"The businessman, identified as Nelson Munene Mugo, was injured in the eye before the attackers fled in his car," police said.
The gang made away with household items and other valuables. They later dumped the vehicle at Kithungururu where it was recovered on Wednesday morning.
Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have collected samples from the home even as they intensified a search for the gang.
"We have heightened night patrols in Embu North and its environs in order to tame crime," police added.
