Police impersonator arrested in Meru

Police officers in Meru have apprehended a suspect notorious for allegedly impersonating police officers and terrorising members of the public in Imenti North Sub-County.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) said that Lucky Mwenda was apprehended after a tip off from members of the public.

A search conducted at his premise led to the recovery of a military jacket, a military knee pad, a military hat, a camel bag and a dagger.

Mwenda will remain in custody awaiting his arraignment.
