Police hunt for ten suspects behind a series of crimes in Migori

Police in Kuria West, Migori County are pursuing ten suspected robbers who have been terrorizing residents.

Kuria West sub county police commander Cleti Kimaiyo said a businessman is the latest victim after losing Ksh.320,000 shillings to the armed gang.

"The gang was armed with three firearms, an AK-47 rifle and two pistols. They attacked the businessman in Nyaborararo village on Wednesday, October 19,2022," Kimaiyo said.

A report seen by Citizen Digital shows that the gang held the family of the victim hostage for at least two hours as they carried out the robbery.

"They forced the victim to transfer the money from his account to his wife's mobile number. They then took the woman's Identity Card and withdrew the money," Kimaiyo added.

Police said the two, who sustained injuries, were rushed to Moshi Hospital where they were treated and discharged.

A search for the suspects is ongoing.
