Police bust Narok man growing bhang in his maize farm

Police in Emurua Dikirr, Narok county, are holding a 30-year-old man after he allegedly intercropped bhang of unknown value on his Kurongurik farm.

 

According to Phillip Ngetich, assistant chief of Ilkerin sub-location, the suspect, Robert Langat, was nabbed after members of the public raised concerns about strangers visiting his home at odd hours.

 

"We visited his farm and found that he had planted the prohibited plant in between the maize plantation and also hidden some along the flower garden, we are still investigating to find out some of his potential customers who are in this trade,Ngetich said.

 

During the arrest, several rolls of bhang and stems were recovered and freshly harvested plants ready to be packaged.

Police are still assessing the street value before the suspect is taken to court.
