Bodaboda riders in Rongo Sub County have expressed serious concerns over the escalating insecurity in the region, urging security officers to take swift and decisive action.
Led by area Secretary General of the Bodaboda Riders Union Steve David Odero, the riders reported that a fellow rider was recently killed, and his motorcycle was stolen.
Additionally, several motorcycles have been stolen by criminals posing as customers.
Odero emphasized the urgency for security agencies to address these rising cases of insecurity promptly.
He assured that the riders are willing to collaborate with authorities to identify and eliminate the criminals operating in the area.
The sub-county bodaboda riders chairperson also appealed to riders, especially those riding at night, to exercise caution to avoid falling into the traps set by criminals.
He warned that if the situation does not improve, they might be forced to cease night operations altogether.
His concerns were echoed by the deputy chairperson, Joseph Nyagoa, who underscored the importance of cautiousness among riders operating after dark to prevent further incidents.
