Machakos: Goats stolen, slaughtered and ferried away, hooves, heads left behind

Residents of Kaonyweni village, Masinga sub-county in Machakos county have raised the alarm over rising cases of cattle theft.

In the latest incident, five goats were stolen from a homestead, slaughtered, with the meat ferried away.

The thieves left behind the intestines, heads and hooves of the animals.

This comes a few days after three other goats were stolen in Thatha village a few kilometres away.

Residents have called for action as no arrests have been made yet.

Cases of cattle theft have been on the rise during the festive season and security has been beefed up in several areas.
