Kakamega: Pupil killed by loaded sugarcane truck

Reports indicate that the young boy, a pupil at St. Monica primary school in the area, was crushed to death by a tractor loaded with sugarcane.

Likuyani area Chief Bornventure Lugado confirmed the incident.

He said that: “The little boy was in the company of other boys when he was crushed to death by the tractor. The driver of the tractor escaped, and is currently being sought.”

It is, however, not yet clear the circumstances under which the young boy was crushed.

The chief has asked drivers transporting sugarcane in the area to be more careful when on the road to avoid accidents.   

The body of the deceased was taken to the Chebaywa mortuary neighbouring Uasin Gishu county.
