Farmers in Bungoma have been urged to take up new methods of farming to ensure resilence.

This comes as KALRO introduced a new breed of chicken to farmers in Lugari.

Speaking during the launch on Monday, Joshua Chepchang, the deputy secretary general of KALRO's livestock division, called on those who train farmers to simplify the training.

"Many farmers do not understand the language used in offices and there is need to simplify the training," he said.

Bungoma Agriculture CEC Monica Fedha urged residents in the Lake Victoria region to get involved in poultry farming.

The Kakamega county government said it is ready to provide training to help farmers invest in poultry farming, adding that a factory already been built in Lugari.
