A section of head teachers from Bungoma county are now appealing to alumni to come forward and help pay fees for needy and bright students who have been unbale to join Form One.

The teachers said they are overwhelmed and facing a shortage of funding for scholarships and infrastructure from the government, adding they are unable to support needy students.

"Parents should also be in the front line looking for ways to fund their children's education instead of waiting until the last minute to seek help from schools and philanthropists," the school heads said.

This comes as Bungoma County was listed among the counties with the largest number of students who have not joined Form One.
