Yahoo Sports signs betting deal with BetMGM
Yahoo has entered into a partnership deal with betting company BetMGM.
The move targets Yahoo sports fans in the U.S. with BetMGM expecting increased numbers.
“This partnership marks an important moment for BetMGM in the growing U.S. sports betting sector by integrating Yahoo’s leading fantasy sports operations and content with BetMGM’s world-class sports betting and interactive platform unique positions us to drive market share and large-scale adoption among sports fans,” MGMboss James Murren told Yahoo Sports.
The multiyear partnership means Yahoo Sports will be the official digital media sports partner for BetMGM.
A Yahoo Sports app will be created on Google Playstore and Apple’s operating system (iOS) next month.
Transactions are to be carried out on the BetMGM platform.
According to Yahoo Sports, some of the sports games which will be available for betting include the National Basketball Association (NBA), National Hockey League (NHL), football, college sports, baseball, soccer, golf and tennis.
Some of the American leagues which have already taken up the Yahoo Sports-MGM partnership include the basketball and hockey leagues.
